本学は10月1日、秋季入学式を創立五十周年記念館で行い、新たに入学したグローバル・ディスカバリー・プログラム学生27人と大学院生102人が大学生活へのスタートを切りました。
　式では那須保友学長から「As a student studying at a research university promoting the SDGs, we hope that you will learn many new things with your friends, colleagues and us that will enable you to produce and deliver innovative discoveries, skills, and applications to the world.（SDGsを推進する研究大学において学ぶ皆さんが、友人や仲間、そして私たち教職員とともに多くの新たな知を得て、革新的な発見や技能、応用力を世界に向けて創出・発信していくことを、心より期待しています）」と英語で式辞がありました。
　新入生を代表して、グローバル・ディスカバリー・プログラムのSRIVASTAVA Ananyaさんが「We hereby pledge to uphold the values of this institution, to honor its legacy by working hard to gain knowledge for the betterment of society. We look toward the new milestones on our path with the united determination to turn every setback into an opportunity for growth.（ここに、私たちは岡山大学の価値観を守り、社会の向上のために知識を深めることに尽力することで、その遺産を尊重することを誓います。私たちは、これからの新たな目標に向かって、どんな逆境も成長の機会に変えるという揺るぎない決意で進んでいきます）」と宣誓しました。
