Tomoaki Mashimo / Professor
I was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1976. I received the Ph.D. degree in Prof. Shigeki Toyama’s lab in mechanical engineering from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Tokyo, Japan, in 2008. I was a roboticist in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University with JSPS research fellowship for research abroad, and I worked with Prof. Takeo Kanade. After being an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) at Electronics-inspired Interdisciplinary Research Institute at Toyohashi University of Technology in 2011, I became Associate Professor in 2016. In 2022, I become Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at Okayama University.

Taro Shibanoki / Associate Professor
He received the B.E. degree from the University of Tokushima in 2008, and the M.E. and D.Eng. degrees from Hiroshima University in 2010 and 2012, respectively. He was a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science since 2011, an Assistant Professor (Special Appointment) in Hiroshima University since 2013 and an Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and an Associate Professor in Ibaraki University since 2014, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor in Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, Okayama University. His current research interests focus on medical robotics, biological signal processing, and human-machine interface.
