Dear Students

With the spread of COVID-19, various aspects in the world, including your life, are changing rapidly and drastically. We think you have spent the last few months with anxiety for uncertainty about the future.

We have exerted every effort working with all of you for continuing safe and secure campus life under trying circumstances. We promise to continue to take every measure possible to ensure and support the learning opportunities of every student.

Summer vacation starts from August 11th. Under ordinary circumstances, everyone is planning various activities and excited about their expectations. However, the infection situation of COVID-19 is becoming increasingly severe, in which anyone can be infected anywhere at any time.

Let's spend this summer vacation meaningfully, keeping in mind that each person follows the basic measures as a new lifestyle to “avoid infected or spreading COVID-19.” This will protect not only yourself but also your loved ones.

We need to consider calmly about what actions we should take to protect ourselves and our loved ones. This will lead to preparing for a society of “the Coexistence with COVID-19” or a society of “the Post-COVID-19 era.” We believe that we will overcome this difficult situation as a "One Team" with everyone who gathers at Okayama University.

Regarding classes starting from the third semester, we are considering providing more face-to-face classes, but at present, we will continue to use online classes together with careful assessment for the infection situation. We will be committed to guarantee your opportunities of the learning throughout the university.

We look forward to seeing you all on campus just after summer vacation.
