Outline of Admission

The Faculty of Law offers the following two options for applicants who do not have Japanese citizenship.

1. International Baccalaureate Application

Below, only the points from the “Okayama University Application for International Baccalaureate Students, Admissions Guide (Japanese Version)” that relate to the Faculty of Law are printed. Please refer to the links below for more details.
Japanese Version
English Version (The Discovery Program for Global Learners only)

Admission Capacity (Law Department, daytime course): A few
Application Eligibility: Persons who have earned an International Baccalaureate and satisfy 1 and 2 of the following

  1. Persons who have completed Language A in Japanese with a grade of 4 or higher
  2. Persons who have completed English (HL grade of 4 or higher) and one course from Group 3 “Individuals and Societies” (HL grade of 4 or higher or SL grade of 4 or higher), and have acquired the necessary grades

Selection of Applicants:
Document Examination (Transcripts and Certificates/Personal Statement/Letter of Evaluation), 200 Points

2. Special Application for Self-Financed International Students

Below, only the points from the “Special Application for Returnee Children and Self-Financed International Students, Admissions Guide (Japanese Version)” that relate to the Faculty of Law are printed. Please refer to the links below for more details.
Japanese Version

Admission Capacity (Law Department, daytime course): A few
Application Eligibility: Persons who satisfy all of the following from 1 to 4

  1. Persons who do not possess Japanese citizenship
  2. Persons who have finished or are expected to finish a 12-year curriculum in school education in a foreign country or persons designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Public Notice of the Ministry of Education No. 153, 1981) as equivalent to those, etc.
  3. Within the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act, persons who possess a resident status that does not hinder them from university applications
  4. Persons who have taken the examinations of the Japanese, Integrated Course, and Mathematics Course 1 of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students conducted by the Independent Administrative Institution Japan Student Services Organization

Selection of Applicants:
Document Examination (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students/Transcripts and Certificates (100 points), a short essay (200 points), and interview screening (100 points), 400 points total)
