About us
We are pleased to announce that the International Symposium on Animal Bioscience will be held as a hybrid event on November 19th and 20th, 2026. We invite you to participate in this global gathering aimed at inspiring emerging researchers. Sustainable practices in animal production, processing, consumption, and supply chains are crucial for ensuring a stable food supply and promoting health. While intensification can help secure food availability, it may also lead to increased environmental concerns and higher risks of animal and zoonotic diseases. Researchers need to focus on improving resource efficiency, enhancing disease prevention, and minimizing environmental impact. Additionally, the functional foods market is expected to grow as consumers invest more in health-related products. Despite concerns about obesity and lifestyle illnesses linked to excessive animal product consumption, these foods hold promise for developing new functional foods. Interdisciplinary research combining animal science, food science, and health science is important to promote.
The International Symposium on Animal Bioscience was launched in 2021 through a joint initiative between Nong Lam University (Vietnam) and Okayama University (Japan). Following the second symposium in 2023, this year marks the third event, continuing to promote international partnerships. This year, Kiel University (Germany) has joined the symposium, making it a forum that fosters deeper exchange between Asia and Europe. Held over two days, the event is titled "Kiel–Nong Lam–Okayama Research Exchange Forum for One Health and Sustainable Food Systems." The first day will feature keynote speeches by representatives from the three universities. The second day will include keynote lectures by experts and poster presentations by young researchers, including graduate students. We hope this event will foster lively dialogue and create opportunities to explore the potential for international collaborative research. We are confident this symposium will make a significant contribution to the advancement of animal science and related life-science fields.
