Regarding the At-Home COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Kit Service

Considering the recent spread of novel coronavirus infection, we will carry out "At-Home COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test Kit Service" (referred to below as antigen test). It is in order to find people at a risk of infection, to prevent the spread of infection and to minimize the influence on graduation and going on to the next grade, in case that any cold symptoms appear for students and staffs at our campus.
People who have any cold symptoms like a fever are forbidden to entry the campus since "Flow chart when suspected to be infected with the novel coronavirus" continues to be applied. Please note that Okayama University does not permit entry into the campus on the basis of this self-test shows 'Negative' despite the presence of cold symptom.

Eligible persons

Applicants who fulfill conditions number 1 to 4 or who fall under number 5.
  1. Any cold symptoms like a fever, cough, sore throat, headache, muscle pains, diarrhea, and feeling fatigue appeared after coming to Okayama University.
  2. Those who can take the samples and use the kit by themselves.
  3. Those who are allowed by your department (for staffs) or your supervisor (for students) to take this antigen test.
    (Your department or supervisor will deliver the kit and check the results responsibly.)
  4. Those who are NOT "subject for notification"
    (Please confirm the below about "subject for notification")
  5. Health Service Center determined you to need of testing since be at high risk of spreading infection on campus.

  1. Ages at or over 65
  2. Those requiring hospitalization
  3. At risk of severe and require administration of medicine for COVID-19 or oxygen.
  4. During pregnancy

SARS-CoV-2 Antigen Detection Kits (Nasal swab fluid tests) that obtained pharmaceutical approval.

The flow of this service

  1. Those who wish to use an antigen test (subject) should call the Health Service Center by themselves. Nurses or public health nurses will ask your condition and explain about antigen test.
  2. The subject should contact his/her department or supervisor about taking the antigen test.
  3. Nurses or public health nurses will send the subject an e-mail with the URL of a movie on how to use the antigen test kit.
  4. The subject must learn the way to use the antigen test kit in advance through the movie.
  5. The department or supervisor should receive the antigen test kit at the Health Service Center and deliver to the subject's home.
  6. The subject should take a sample and take a test by himself/herself. Take a photo of the test line (T) as a result within a certain time.
  7. The subject should inform the Health Service Center and his/her department or supervisor of the result via e-mail with the photo.
    Positive; Apply for registration for positive to "Okayama Prefectural Positive Person Diagnosis Center" by yourself and stay at home.
    Negative; Stay at home until body temperature normalizes without antipyretics and respiratory symptoms subside.

※If the condition is becoming worse, you have to go to clinics or hospitals. (e.g. A fever hasn't gone down or it's difficult to eat and drink)
