Extracurricular Activities

Okayama University offers a wide range cultural and athletic clubs and circles for international students to join in. These extracurricular activities provide an opportunity to become acquainted with Japanese students and help to make campus life more enriching and enjoyable.

●Clubs (Named KOUYUKAI)
The following students can join the KOUYUKAI Club;

  • Regular undergraduate student at Okayama University
  • Short-term international students at Okayama University (Only when the approval of joining the club is obtained from the clubs)

With the consent of each club, any student at Okayama University can join the DOUKOUKAI club.

2. Cultural Exchange Events

Okayama University international students are invited to join in the various international cultural exchange events held throughout the year at elementary and junior high schools, high schools, communities and institutions. Please feel free to take part in any of the events you are interested in.

3. Free Admission to Museums

Okayama University international students are automatically members of the following museums. You can enter the permanent exhibitions of these facilities free of charge simply by showing your student ID,

Ohara Museum(Kurashiki)

Ohara Magosaburo founded the Ohara Museum of Art in 1930. This private museum, featuring Western art, is the oldest in Japan. Okayama University students can enjoy unlimited free access to the Ohara Museum of Art including the Main Art Gallery, Annex, the Craft Art Gallery, the Asiatic Art Gallery and Kojima Torajiro Memorial Hall.

Okayama Korakuen Garden (Okayama)

Known as one of the three great gardens of Japan, Okayama Korakuen is a cultural heritage site for the world to treasure. Okayama University joined the campus members program in 2015.

Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art and Okayama Prefectural Museum

The Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art is one of the many museums in Japan that are supported by a prefecture. The museum, which was designed by architects Okada & Associates, opened in 1988 and houses a collection of around two thousand works.
