What is the Medical Center for Children?

In September 2012, Okayama University Hospital established an in-hospital organization, the Medical Center for Children, to provide advanced and comprehensive medical care for sick children. The Center provides innovative medical technology to children in safety and security as the last bastion hospital for children. Yoshinobu Maeda presides over the Center as its Director. Takuo Noda (Professor in Pediatric Surgery) and Hirokazu Tsukahara (Professor in Pediatrics) serve respectively as Vice-directors in charge of management. The constituent clinical departments of Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Neurology (Katsuhiro Kobayashi, Director), Pediatric Cardiology (Hirokazu Tsukahara, Director), and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (Hirokazu Tsukahara, Director), Pediatric Dentistry (Michiyo Nakano, Director), Pediatric Anesthesiology (Tatsuo Iwasaki, Director), Pediatric Radiology (Takao Hiraki, Director), Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery (Shingo Kasahara, Director),and Child Psychosomatic Medicine(Ayumi Okada,Director)  undertake the management, further development, and closer cooperation and collaboration with clinical departments and divisions that are indispensable for sophisticated pediatric medical care.
