Message from the Head of Medical Center for Children
In September 2012, Okayama University Hospital established an in-hospital organization, the Medical Center for Children, to provide advanced and comprehensive medical care for sick children. Yoshinobu Maeda presides over the Center as its Director. Toshiki Takenouchi (Acting Professor in Pediatrics) and Terutaka Tanimoto (Associate Professor in Pediatric Surgery) serve respectively as Vice-directors in charge of management.

Features and Description of Medical Care
The Center provides innovative medical technology to children in safety and security as the last bastion hospital for children. The constituent clinical departments of Pediatrics, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Neurology (Toshiki Takenouchi, Director), Pediatric Cardiology (Kenji Baba, Acting Director), and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology (Ayumi Okada, Acting Director), Pediatric Dentistry (Michiyo Nakano, Director), Pediatric Anesthesiology (Tatsuo Iwasaki, Director), Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery (Shingo Kasahara, Director), Child Psychosomatic Medicine (Ayumi Okada，Director) , and Pediatric Emergency Medicine (Kohei Tsukahara, Director) undertake the management, further development, and closer cooperation and collaboration with clinical departments and divisions that are indispensable for sophisticated pediatric medical care.
