What is the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation?

Rehabilitation includes important treatments to impaired function resulting from various causes, enabling patients to resume their daily life independently. The staff consists of 5 doctors, 27 physical therapists, 8 occupational therapists, 4 speech therapists, and one nurse. The annual number of patients treated is about 70,000, which is extended to about 90,000 by the number of units. In terms of education, we are in charge of lectures and practical training in schools to foster health professionals (14 courses in 10 schools), including undergraduate medical students. In terms of research, we undertake research on, quantitative evaluation of muscular strength, evidence of exercise therapy, sarcopenia, locomotive syndrome, ICUAW, PICS, and electromyography.
