Overseas Online Second Opinion Service

The Overseas Online Second Opinion Service is designed for individuals residing abroad who find it difficult to travel to Japan. Based on information provided by the patient’s attending physician regarding the diagnosis and treatment plans from a medical institution overseas, our hospital provides a second opinion. Please note that no medical procedures, including examinations, treatments, or prescriptions, will be conducted during the consultation. Additionally, recording or filming of the online session is not permitted.
 

Eligible Individuals

The patient themselves is the principal party for the consultation. However, family members may also participate.
If the patient is not present during the consultation, their consent is required.
Third parties such as agents or intermediaries may not attend without the patient’s prior approval.
 

Ineligible Consultations

  1. Medical malpractice, medical lawsuits and other issues
  2. Consultation regarding details of medical expenses and medical benefits
  3. Dissatisfaction with attending physician
  4. Requests for hospital or physician transfer
  5. About a patient who has passed away
  6. Consultations regarding psychiatric or mental health conditions
  7. If you are unable to submit necessary documents
  8. If the content of the consultation is outside our expertise

  • Department of Neuropsychiatry
  • Department of Dermatology
  • Ophthalmology Department
  • Department of Emergency and Critical Care Medicine

Documents Required for Consultation

  1. Medical Referral Letter
  2. Examination Data:
    ・ Blood test results
    ・ Pathology reports
    ・ Images and reports from various medical imaging tests, etc.
  3. Photo identification of the individual(s) requesting the consultation (e.g., the patient or family members)
  4. Application Form for an Overseas Online Second Opinion Service
  5. Consent Form (required if the applicant is not the patient)
※In addition to the documents listed on this page, additional documents or medical test data may be requested by each medical coordination company, as necessary.
 

Consultation Time and Fees (Advance Payment Required)

 ¥132,000 per session (up to 60 minutes)
(Extra charges apply if you go over the time limit.)

Payments are non-refundable under any circumstances.
Once payment is confirmed, scheduling of the session will begin.

If you are not fluent in Japanese, please arrange for an interpreter in advance.
