What is the Comprehensive Center for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer?

In April 2024, Okayama University Hospital established an in-hospital organization, the Comprehensive Center for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults (AYA) with Cancer, to provide integrative medical and supportive care for children and AYA with cancer. Children and AYA with cancer have specific hurdles to overcome, including continuous learning and employment. Okayama University Hospital and the Center provide optimal patient care and support through the multidisciplinary cooperation, which are specially designed for children and AYA with cancer and their families. The Center promotes education and research related to multidisciplinary collaboration, as well as patient and citizen engagement and close cooperation with local medical institutions.
