What is The Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Center?
The center consists of gastroenterology, GI surgery, pediatrics, and pediatric surgery, working closely with nurses, pharmacists, and dietitians. Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) include ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, which have become increasingly common in recent years. These intractable diseases can cause severe trouble in daily life because of symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and bleeding. It is extremely important to diagnose IBD in its early stages and start treatment for it because of the progressive disease courses and irreversible intestinal damage. The IBD Center conducts highly specialized medical treatment as a core hospital for IBD patients who are not only affected by mild and moderate disease courses, but also those who are affected by severe or refractory disease in other general hospitals.
Main Activities of the IBD Center
■Outpatient Care for IBD
Specialized IBD clinics are available from Monday to Friday, where dedicated specialists provide comprehensive care.
In addition, we accept emergency patients as needed.
■Inpatient Care for IBD
We provide inpatient care for patients requiring multidisciplinary treatment and detailed evaluation. We also manage patients with other refractory intestinal diseases in addition to IBD.
■Education and Awareness for IBD
We promote education and awareness through regular meetings with healthcare professionals within the hospital and affiliated institutions, as well as through patient support groups.
